Arietta smiles, "Okay," She follows him up the route, her pokemon in tail. She had a new belt on, but she wanted them all out for some fresh air, "You know, I've never traveled with someone who wasn't the professor. Gurkinn and I would always stay at a hotel or a cabin, though." She reminisced, "I have a feeling that's not going to happen tonight." Arietta wondered what Mauville was like. She'd never read up on any of the Hoenn cities, but they were probably all very nice. Scim seemed the happiest to be out in nature, whereas Moraya looked cautious. Jeeves just looked like... Jeeves. "Also, I got some bandages and alcohol from the hotel's first aid, if you want to dress that wound later." She says, motioning to her over the shoulder bag.

Colt slowed down as to fall in line with Arietta. "That would be a good idea. " Colt raised his arm, looking it over. He had actually forgotten about it, but now that he was thinking about it again, it was starting to sting. Colt was never very good with small talk. He usually liked to get right to the point. However, it was never too late to try. " don't worry. I usually don't travel with people at all. Like to be by myself most of the time. The only times I have traveled with others was with my mentor, Cynthia. A majority of the time we traveled, we slept outdoors. Eventually I started liking staying outdoors more than staying in a comfy bed." Colt looked over at Arietta with a smile. "You'll get used to it."

Arietta laughs, "I'm sure I will, but I'm not sure Moraya will, she's a bit spoiled." The pokemon yips at her angrily, "Moraya was never a wild pokemon, my mom got her from a breeder. Scim and Jeeves though, I met them a little after my father died. Scimitar and I just met at the same place everyday, and Jeeves was constantly following me around, so mom gave me some pokeballs and I caught both of them." She looks back at her pokemon fondly, "How'd you meet your pokemon?"

"Well i have a lot of pokemon. more than I can carry with me. Of course, there are others that I cherish more than others." Colt looked down at Lucifer. " Like this guy for instance." Lucifer barked. "I lived in Snowpoint city in sinnoh with my father since my mother dissapeared in a cave expedition when I was young. As you can tell by the name, Snowpoint was always cold and was covered in snow, so not many pokemon besides ice types were around. One day when I was playing outside I saw a Shinx lying in the snow on the outskirts of town. I followed my instincts and took it in the house, trying to keep it warm. Apparently, something happened at the edge of the mountain that sent a lot of pokemon running up and into the cold." Colt smirked. "He was tough even back then. Was up within the day, running around the house like nothing happened. After a week of caring for him, my dad handed me a pokeball and suggested I catch him. I was ecstatic, but didn't want to catch him without a proper battle. So even though I didn't have any pokemon, I asked little Lucifer if he wanted to have a 1 on 1 fight, which he eagerly agreed to. He sure put up a fight, ended up bed ridden for the next 2 days, but I won and Lucifer has been with me ever since." Colt realized he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings as he fondly recounted his and Lucifers' first meeting. "And to think that if I hadn't been outside that day i would never have met him. The world sure is strange like that."

Arietta chuckles lightly, "That's adorable." She looks at Lucifer, "It's hard to imagine the big guy as a tiny little Shinx, he's huge now." She looks back at her pokemon with a fond smile. They were her family as much as her mom and Alakazam. She couldn't imagine being without them, they helped her get through her father's death. "By the way, I feel like I've caused you a lot of trouble. Sorry about that," Arietta frowns, "Usually it's not very exciting around me. But, if you have any questions on Megastones right now, I'd be glad to answer them to my best ability."

Colt had actually forgotten all about the mega stones. He looks at his watch. it was late. "Let's pull off the path for now and find a place to rest. once we do that, then we can start talking about the mega stones." Colt takes a left off the path and starts examining for a flat spot to rest. Lucifer suddenly runs over to a spot and starts barking. "Good idea, Lucifer. This looks like a good spot." Colt walks over to his Luxray and pats him on the head. "Okay, this is where we are going to rest for the night." Colt calls out to Arietta. "I'll go get some supplies for a fire, you stay here and clear things up for us, okay?"

Arietta walks over to the spot and nods runs over to the spot. As she and her pokemon begin to clear out the area, she notices that there are pokemon everywhere. Wild ones, really. She ignores them for awhile, but after she sets up everything, she starts to dig around in her bag. In it she finds some empty pokeballs, two bowls, and some poke food. "Ah, there we are." she mumbles, and pulls out the food and bowl. Her pokemon perk up, and she hears some rustling in the area around her. A small smile crosses Arietta's face. She pours one bowl and pushes it to her pokemon, who begin to share, not questioning her actions. As they feast, she pours another bowl, and walks to the edge of the clearing. She places it near the bushes, and backs up slightly. After a moment of what seems to be hesitating silence, there's another rustle in the bushes- then, a small, yellow-green paw reaches into the clearing, pulling the bowl a little closer. An electrike pops out of the bushes, and hesitantly begins to munch on the food. "That's right, eat all that you want." She coos, smiling at the little pokemon fondly. After sensing that Arietta wasn't a threat, it eats the bowl of poke-chow ravenously. After finishing, it looks up at her, giving her big, googly eyes. She laughs, and it pushes the bowl closer with its snout. "Come on, little guy. I'll introduce you to the group." She says, picking up the bowl and motioning it to follow. The electrike hesitates, but follows after her. She introduces it to her other pokemon, and Jeeves hides behind her leg. Scim and Moraya, however, offer it some of their food, and they seem to strike it up very well. Even after awhile, she begins to pet the pokemon, and talk to it. "You know, it's been a very long time since we've had a new family member. I'd love for you to join us. Moraya and Scim seem to really like you," she says in a soft, warm tone, "If you want, you should join us." The electrike stares up at her. It looked conflicted, but eventually it nodded. She smiles. "I promise, you'll have lots of fun here." She reaches over, and grabs an empty pokeball, offering it to the electrike. It stares at the device, then taps it with its forehead, causing the device to activate and take it inside the ball. It moved three times, then lets off a 'dun' to let Arietta know the electrike's been caught. "Come on out, Theo." She says, tossing the ball. The electrike, newly dubbed Theo, comes out of its new home, and looks up at her, "Welcome to the family." She pats it, before her other pokemon begin to chat it up again- Jeeves even joining in. "That was fun." She mumbles, a wide smile on her face and a warm feeling in her chest. Maybe it wasn't all bad here in Hoenn?

Colt walked back to the camp with an arm full of fallen branches, with Lucifer holding a bundle of sticks in his mouth. "I see you've got a new pokemon." Colt said, looking at the Electrike. He threw down the logs in a pile, and Lucifer released the sticks. "I've always found Electrikes' intriguing, probably because they remind me so much of Lucifer." Colt said as he assembled the skeleton of the fire. Lucifer looked at this new pokemon with intrigue. "So, which of these guys did the battling? I have some potions on me, so I can heal them up right away."

Arietta laughs lightly, looking down at Theo, "Theo wasn't caught after a battle. I just feed him a little and introduced him to the group, then asked if he wanted to join." She looks up from Theo to Colt, "I don't think I've ever battled a wild pokemon. Only caught ones, and that was when I was little- not counting the ones with Silas." Arietta casts a glance to Lucifer, then looks back at Theo, who was looking at the newcomers now, with a curious and a little timid expression on his face, "I only knew what Theo was because he was in Gurkinn's study books. His evolution, Manectric, has a mega-evolution. I thought they were absolutely adorable. But I didn't know they lived here." She smiles as her all of her pokemon are now looking at Lucifer. She could see in their eyes they wanted to talk to the pokemon, but didn't know how to approach it.

Colt smiled a little. He always battled to catch his pokemon, even when they were friendly with him, with their permission of course. He thought of it as a friendly challenge. When he saw Ariettas pokemon eyeing his Lucifer, he wasn't surprised. " They have a reason to be shy." Colt said aloud. "Lucifer has always been a fighter, an intimidating force. you're pokemon aren't used to battling, so it makes sense that Lucifer would make them a little timid." Colt looked at Lucifer. "Try to act friendly." Lucifer loosened up and walked over to the group of pokemon ogling him. Colt had a fire all set up; he just needed to light it. He had one pokemon that could light it, but... Colt shook his head. He pulled a lighter out of his pocket and flicked it until it lit. "So, can you tell me a little about these mega stones?" Colt moved the lighter towards the fire pit he had made and lit the fire.

Arietta nodded, watching as her pokemon seemed to spring into action now that knew they could approach Lucifer. Moraya seemed the most interested, looking a little like she was swooning over the pokemon. She choked back a laugh. "Megastones are rather large stones that look very peculiar. All of the stones we have discovered so far are perfectly spherical, and a little translucent. Inside, they have a DNA-like swirl, so they're very easy to identify." Arietta thinks back to her Mother's megastone and Key stone, "The megastone's colors usually correspond with the pokemon they go with. Megastones also very in size, but I have yet to find one smaller then my fist." She holds her hand up to demonstrate, "But, on the other hand, the keystone- a very small iridescent stone that, when a pokemon is holding a megastone and is in sync enough with their trainer, causes the pokemon to mega evolve- is very small, I've seen them come in the size of Golf balls, to the size of gumballs. We've only recent figured out how to make a device that allows you to activate your megastone and keystone at any time- we call it a Megaring." Arietta reaches into her bad, and pulls out her laptop. After the thing boots up, she pulls up some pictures of the 18 megastones they had discovered, and a picture of a Keystone and a megaring. "Two of the megastones we haven't identified yet, but the energy around them is much more powerful then the other megastones..." She licks her lips, remembering how many pokemon they had introduced the megastones to. None matched, "To be quite honest, being around them unnerves me."

Colt looked at the pictures on the laptop with fascination. Pokemon thought to have a final form, elevated beyond that, gifted with amazing power. There was even a stone for garachomp. These stones would definitely help Colt become stronger, and maybe even finally beat Cynthia. Those other stones though... what could they be for? Something with immense power and very scarce. There were a few he could think of off the top of his head. Zapdos, Articcuno, Moltres. There weren't many of these pokemon around, so it could be possible. Colt put his hand in his jacket and held one of his pokeballs. could it be him? No, not likely. "Do you know what these mega stones are exactly? like, where they came from?"

Arietta shakes her head, "We're not sure where they come from. It's one of the great mysteries of them that drives Gurkinn absolutely bonkers, and keeps him up for nights on end sometimes. He forgets to eat when he gets stuck like that," A worried look passes over her face, and she pulls out her phone and sends Gurkinn a text saying 'remember to eat dinner!' "He's so forgetful." She laughs lightly, before putting her phone away, "But we've found them in several locations, or they've been given to us by curious strangers. I personally discovered the Alakazam one that my mom uses, but I found it in the Mirror caves, just sitting on the floor in an empty room with a light shining on it. Another kid said that he was gifted Abomasite from a friendly Abomasnow. Hell, another kid even found Aggranite in a Gym for the Gods' sake." She purses her lips, "we recently discovered that when a Megaring is exposed to the Rings at the Sundial in Anistar, it gains the ability to glow when nearing a megastone, but only when the rings of the Sundial are spinning- so between 8 and 9 PM in Kalos. There's so much we don't know, and it's driving us crazy. What does the Sundial have to do with megastones? Why do the KeyStones shine after being exposed to their light?" She shrugs, "I'm being driven just as crazy as Gurkinn."

Colt couldn't think of anything. He didn't really know the history of Kalos or the sundial, so he couldn't come to any conclusion. He looked over at Lucifer as he mingled with the other pokemon. Lucifer seemed to be having fun. "You seem to really care about this Gurkinn." He pointed out. "Sounds like a very dedicated man. someone who follows there goals to the end."

Arietta laughs, "When I first met him I hated him, and I don't think he like me either." A nostalgic, slightly sad look comes over her face, "My mom knew him for a long time, since she was little. After my dad died, my mom thought I could use some fun, so she sent me to Gurkinn's. I met his Granddaughter, Korrina, there. We became best friends. Gurkinn and I used to argue all of the time, but one day he was running around dancing and singing, and Korrina and I were enthralled. We watched at the man mega-evolved a Lucario. I was so astounded by it that I just had to help him. Korrina wasn't interested in the science part, she was interested in the battle-potentialities, so she began to train with her dad and the Lucarios. Gurkinn and I slowly developed a bond through the research, and somewhere along the way he became like a crazy Granddad." She looks over to her pokemon, and smiled when she saw Jeeves and Theo beginning to interact with one-another and Lucifer. "So, I heard you say something about a mentor? Cynthia?" She thinks for a moment, "It wouldn't be that Cynthia, would it? The Champion of Sinnoh?"

"The one and only." Colt reached into his jacket and pulled out a bottle of water and a pre-made sandwich and tossed them over to Arietta. "I had always looked up to her as a kid. whenever her matches were airing on T.V I would always be glued to the screen. I admired her strength and ability to be seemingly calm in battle. We met in Eterna City after I had gotten my 6th gym badge there. Apparently she had been there to look at the statue of sinnohs legendary pokemon when she decided to watch my match with the gyms leader. She said that she was impressed with my skills as a trainer and that I would go far. Of course, me being excited to meet someone I had admired so much and wanting to find someone strong challenged her to a battle." Colt laughed "She crushed me. didn't stand a chance. Lucifer here did manage to take down two of her pokemon single handidly though. She said she was impressed with my strength and that I had a lot of potential.
Eventually, after I had gotten all the badges in Sinnoh I got to challenge her on the grand stage. It was definitely a daunting battle." Colt looked up, reminiscing. "I ended up loosing again, but this time it was down to Lucifer vs her garachomp. That battle was and still is the most exciting battle I have ever had. After the battle, Cynthia came to me and offered to train me. She also gave me the egg of the pokemon that became my own garachomp. She's even more amazing when she isn't battling." Colt couldn't help but smile. " She is extremely interested in the mythos of the Sinnoh region, and turns into a child whenever she discovers something new. She is also very laid back and always seems to have fun. She taught me a lot of stuff that I wouldn't have otherwise. She became a mother to me."

Arietta managed to catch the water-bottle, but the sandwich hit her square in the face. She laughs, "Thanks." She says and unwraps the sandwich, digging in, "That's an absolutely fantastic story. You actually managed to almost beat a champion and get trained by her. I'm sure you're the envy of trainers everywhere." She laughs, "You even got a pokemon from her. I'd like to meet her one day."

" Don't be surprised if you do meet her someday. She likes to travel the world." Colt looked up at the sky. The sun had set and the only light was the light of the flame. "Well, should probably get some shut eye for tomorrow. Gonna get up early for our trip toward Mauville." Colt went to lie down, then realized Arietta hadn't slept outside before. "For sleeping outside, just find a place flat and clean, then lie down. If you need anything I'll see what I've got on me."

Arietta nods, "I think I'll be fine. But thank you." She stands up and moves closer to the fire, her pokemon flocking to her like children. She laughs softly as they swarm her, Scim laying on her stomach, Moraya by her head, Jeeves under one arm and Theo under the other. It's an odd position to lay in, but oddly enough she doesn't care, and quickly drifts off to sleep. Moraya and Scim are the only two to stay awake in the party, silently keeping watch.

The light of the flame flickers off my face for a brief instant while I watch from the shadows cast by the trees, I stood so I was position where the other boy couldn't see me. With my face still hidden under my shroud's hood I sank into the shadows of the trees and darted off finding nothing left of interest with them, however I would still be watching, just not in person. My shadowy form traveled a great distance away from their camp sight to a place I had picked out before they had arrived at theirs. Zoe and Blitz awaited me there sitting and laying around the quiet large fire they had made. I rose from the shadow and walked over to the crackling light while removing my black shroud. "Well I got what I needed from them, we have new plans of travel and some info that will be of great use to us." I said sitting near the fire and crossing my arms along with my legs. So these mega stones did exist? Well I will be getting some of my own soon enough, but for now lets see how things play out. The fire flickered and danced in front of me as my thoughts followed and molded into plans and ideas for the future, the very though of chaos and misery exciting my blood as I grinned as slowly an evil cackle began to flow from my throat as my head fell back and I looked at the dark sky before sending my laughter into the sky.

The bike path was old. About thirty years or more. The girders were rusting, there was grooves were bikes had driven over and over. People had begun to complain about 2 years ago when someone leaning on the railings broke it and fell to their death. The Path wasn't even efficient, it zig-zagged back and forth, making it take as much time as it was to jog below it to get across the path on a bike. Many wanted the path rebuilt, but the politicians always said 'it's fine, and it'd cost to much money to replace.' But everyone she'd met wanted the old thing rebuilt. Everyone. "Leviathan, hun, would you do me a favor?" She caressed the Arcanine's head, "I need to get up on that little old path up their, but they won't let me on without a bike. Would you let me hitch a ride with you onto it?" Her voice was sweet as it cooed into the Arcanine's ear. The Arcanine lowered itself for his lady, and she sat on his back sidesaddle. After making sure she was on, it got up and jumped onto the bridge in one large powerful jump. "Thank you sweety pie." the woman gets off of the pokemon and blows a kiss to it before getting out its pokeball and returning it to its home. Elaine observed the area with playful eyes, and decided it looked like a mile long piece of trash. A man on a bike rode up to her, and stopped. "What're you doing on here without a bike?" He asked, wiping sweat from his forehead, "it's against the rules to be up here without one?" Elaine looked at the man for a moment, before a cruel smile swept over her face. She ignored the man, and held out her arms, palms up. Inky, thick flames lit on her hands, and she pushed her hands into the bike path. "What are you doing?!" The cyclist screams. Her hands began to melt the metal of the path, and the fire- even with no fuel- began to spread, "Stop!" Elaine laughs, and shoots a ball of flame at the man. He's immediately engulfed in the impossibly hot flames, causing him to scream in agony. The cyclist staggers over to the edge of the bridge and jumps off. It only take a moment before the sky is lit with an eerie black-red light, the bike path engulfed in flames of a mystical quality. Trainers around and below watched as the path melted and drooped into the water. Steam rose into the air as well as smoke, and an alarm was sounded in Slateport and Mauville. The night rolled on.

Colt lied on the ground, eyes closed but mind still awake. Things sure got interesting. He went to Hoenn in order to find a challenge, and he found a lot more than he hoped. So much had happened in the span of a day. Colt sat up and looked at Arietta as she lay asleep. He wasn`t really used to traveling with people, let alone people weaker than him. If something happened, it would be his job to deal with it. Then there was the fact that she was a disciple of Yveletal, a god he thought would be drawn to people with evil intentions. Colt fell back on the ground and closed his eyes, this time promptly falling asleep.

I snapped out of my when the sound of screams pierced the silence like a blade to butter, "So tonight won't be all silence and no screams." I said to Houndoom and Zoe who's ears perked up at the sound, but remained still. Judging from the heat in the air it was a fire, but started by who? I wanted to know, but at the same time why bother? I had my eyes on someone else and didn't need to be distracted by someone else, but...

Elaine stand on the melting metal of the bridge, enjoying the flames swirling around her. This is one thing she loved about the destruction of the old, the feel of the flames. They licked at her heels and hands, not burning her or her dress. Her hair blew in heated wind, and she decided to depart to Mauville. It would only cause trouble if she stayed. Reaching within herself, she ignites the core of her body and transforms into a humanoid-like ball of flame. Taking her chances, she jumps off of the melting pile of slag, and lands on the water, floating just above it with her flame body. Next to her: the corpse of the cyclist. "Poor little darling. Shoulda never tried to get in my way." She coos, and skates away into the forest. -- Scim and Moraya stare into the distance at the site of the lit skies, worry on their faces. Scim floats off and flies towards the sight, and comes back after determining the melting bridge was none of its concern. Just another obstacle for tomorrow.

Colt opened his eyes slowly, sitting up and stretching his arms. "Welp, time to get going." It was early in the morning, estimated 5 am, and things seemed different. Colt could smell smoke, but not the smoke from the now dead campfire. "Lucifer, any idea where that smell is coming from?" Lucifer looked up at Colt from his curled up position and shook his head. "Well, no reason to fret over it." Colt walked over to the other side of the campfire to see Arietta still sleeping, covered in pokemon. He smiled. "Hey, Arietta. Time to get up, we're heading out."

Arietta's eyes snap open, but she just looks over at him. Her brain was processing where she was, who this guy was, and why she was cold- and after what felt like a minute, she smiled, "Hi Colt." she sits up slowly, making sure not to startle her pokemon. She stretches, and stops midway. "It smells like smoke, but not wood smoke. It's different." She looks around, surveying the area. The rest had woken up as well, but also seemed confused. After a moment of looking around, "Colt, wasn't there a Bike path way over there before we went to sleep?" She points to the east, where the sky was oddly barren.

Colt looked where Arietta was pointing. "Yeah, there was. It is actually elevated pretty far off the ground, so you can sometimes see it from a far distance. If we had bikes we could travel quickly from..." Colt paused, gears turning in his head. "Oh no..." He looked in horror as he suddenly realized something. "Lucifer, let's go!" Colt ran towards the path as fast as he could. He knew the smell of smoke wasn't from his campfire, or a forest fire. The smoke had a very distinct smell; burning metal. He arrived back onto the route to see the bike path melted, parts of it missing, probably fallen off from the extreme heat. "What could of caused this..." Colt pondered as he looked up at the newly disfigured cycling road.

Arietta eventually caught up with Colt, panting lightly, pokemon in tow. The guy sure could run fast. She observes the damage with a disturbed look, and sees a piece of metal on the ground. She reaches down to try and pick it up, but stops when she feels a searing hot hear emanating off of it. "The metal is still really hot..." She looks up at Colt, and as if to prove her point, a still standing leg of the path slowly slides down and falls into the water, letting up a billowing cloud of steam. There was police and firemen everywhere, and trainers talking to police about what they saw. "Hey, lets go see what they're telling the police." Arietta says, tugging on Colt's sleeve.

"You go on ahead." Colt waved his hand at Arietta while still looking at the carnage, gesturing her away. He was trying to piece together what had happened here. There were many possibilities, none of which pleased him. It could of been a criminal terrorist group, destroying landmarks of Hoenn. If that was the case though, there would likely be more commotion than there already was. There was also the possibility that it was another disciple. This one seemed likely, as it obviously wasn't unheard of for disciples to be in hoenn. What motive would this person have, though? Was it just to cause chaos? Colt had seen destruction by fire of this magnitude, maybe greater, only one other time. Was what caused that what also caused the destruction of cycling road? He thought for a second. Were there any volcanoes nearby where it could have came from... Colt stood in place, lost in thought.

Arietta watched him for a moment, then shrugged and run over to the officer Jenny and a trainer, who looked a bit shooken up. "No, you don't understand! I'm not crazy!" He shouted, and Jenny just looked at him, partially annoyed and partially terrified. "So, you're telling me that some woman and her Arcanine jumped up onto the cycling bridge, then set it on fire with- tell me if I'm wrong- black fire? Then, after seeing someone falling into the water, a woman made of flames jumped off of the path and skated away into the forest?" No wonder Jenny doubted him, but if Arietta wasn't a disciple she wouldn't have believed that either. But, that sounded like some kind of disciple if she'd ever heard of one. Suddenly someone screamed, and everyone turned. In the water was a bloated, charred body. Arietta stared with wide eyes at the sight. "Oh my gods." She whispered, and covered her mouth. It was charred past recognition of gender or features, and she could feel that his death had been a long, slow, agonizing one. Arietta walked away, stomach turning terribly as she walked back to Colt. "I think I know what did this." She whispers, the empty eyes of the body in her head.
