The woman shook her head. "No, nothing..." She was lying again, and looked uncomfortable. She rose, grabbing her purse and Pokeball. "I'm sorry, but I'd rather not speak about it. He was a good friend, and his loss is still fresh." Back to truthful statements, it seemed.

Arta chitters sadly at the waiter. Honestly, she wasn't bad! Razailia pats the spider and writes in her notes: waiter scared of spiders- possible victim of antagonist. Antagonist using spiders is now on table. When Razailia looks up, she finally notices the activity at the fountain. She had avoided looking back there, as that girl creeped her out on some deep level- but now there was some old bald guy chatting to her. The man had a sadistic gleam, but something about him made Razailia set her cup down in awe. The set of his jaw, the look in his eye: he'd be perfect for a protagonist and an antagonist. Like someone who'd betray you when you least expect it. She needed pictures- but how? Razailia hold up her hand to Arta, and sets her stuff down. She pulls out her camera, and walks up to about twenty feet from the two. Using her zoom feature in her camera, she manages to get a perfect snap of the man's face- with the sadistic gleam and all. Ah, beautiful. He'd go right up there with the old woman who had been benching 75 pounds on her front porch that morning, and her female Meowstick. The town did have it's interesting characters.

Gwyn stood up. "Hold it." He didn't want to let this person go. She knew something; something that could be crucial to finding out the cause of these disappearances. "You aren't telling me something, and I want to know what it is." Gwyn skipped being subtle and went the direct method. "Lying to me won't do you any good. I want you to come with me, I have a few more questions to ask." He planned to bring her somewhere secluded and start his... Unique form of interrogation. It probably wasn't necessary, but he didn't really care. He noticed a flash out of the corner of his eye and turned to see someone standing there with a camera pointed at him. He just assumed he was in the way of a fountain picture and payed no attention to her.

Hmmm, a forty-plus year old man asking a twenty-one-year-old young woman to go somewhere secluded...Yeah, she wasn't suicidal. "I'd rather not, if you don't mind..." She began warily backing away, her Sliggoo slithering backwards with her; going backwards was fun! The young woman quickly looked around the plaza; the group of young men had departed, as had the teenage girls, but another old woman had entered the plaza, followed by her male Meowstic. Perfect.
The waiter crept towards the table, keeping an eye on the Ariados, and set the check on the table before sprinting back inside.

Arta chittered cries of love to the waiter, and detaches from the awning, chasing after him. Razailia lets her Ariados do what it wants- knowing the pokemon is smart enough to not break things. The woman puts down her camera when she notices the air seeming to change. She blinks at the two and walks back to her notepad- and, after leaving some money, grabs the pen and walks back. She wanted to write this down- whatever it was.

The waiter freaks the hell out and barricades himself inside the back room; the commotion causes several patrons to look over, then jump up in their seats at the giant red arachnid skittering across the floor. The large man at the bar covered his face with his palm as the Ariados causes a ruckus. Hopefully, the pokemon would follow its trainer out of the place.

Arta chitters sadly when it reaches the door, and fiddles uselessly with the doorknob. Then it scratches at the door even more uselessly, and crawls up the wall. Arta slowly exits the restaurant, not disturbing any more patrons as it walks across the ceiling.

Gwyn stopped himself from following her as she backed up. He really didn't want to cause too many problems, and people have called the police on him before for asking younger people to follow him for questioning. Luckily he had his badge to show, but he didn't have as much freedom here. He cleared his throat and pulled out his badge. "I'm a detective. I just want to ask you a few questions about the case and that's it." He had hoped he didn't have to pull out his badge, but it was the only way he could think of to get her to co-operate without him going to the station again. Most of the time when he flashed his badge people listened, so he hoped it worked here.

The woman still seemed leery of him, even after he flashed his badge. "I never saw you in the station when I was being questioned..." She stated, keeping distance between herself and the pushy detective. Her Sliggoo sensed the tension in the air, and made adorably threatening noises at the man. Of course, a cutesy pile of goo in the shape of a snail isn't the most intimidating thing in the world.

Ah! A detective. She had met another one of his kind in Lumiose- the man's name had been Looker. He owned a building, and in there lived a small girl and her espurr. The small group had been fascinating to help and talk to. She had helped Looker, despite her publicist's outcries, and brought them together. She began to take notes. 'The man is tall, intimidating. Knows when he's going to far. The Sadistic gleam in his eye is gone- replaced now with one slight frustration and hesitance. Still managing to remain a 'grey' standard in morality. Would probably enjoy strong black coffee to a cup of tea, and like to stand half naked on the porch at sundown, thinking manly, important things as he assembles the facts of that day in his mind.'

Gwyn could tell that things were not going the way he hoped, as the slug that had slimed his pant leg was now hissing at him. "I'm from out of town. I came in to do some more investigations that the city police may have missed. Now, I have a feeling you have some very important information that you are keeping from me, and I just want to solve this thing." He thought that he should probably stop arguing with her if she didn't go along with him after this. He didn't want to scare her off permanently.

The woman paused, seeming to consider him for a few moments, then sighed. "...It was a monster. A horrible beast." She said low, her words ringing true. "It just...swallowed him whole. I saw the whole thing, but no one believed me. Now, please, leave me be." The woman turned and began hurrying off, her Sliggoo following suit, leaving a thin trail of slime behind her. A few of the passersby looked over at the scene, an old woman and her Meowstic giving the stink eye to the detective.

Razailia picked up her camera, and took a picture of the girl this time, then another of the detective. His prey was getting away, it seemed. She readied her pen to write down a description of the man's disappointed face- or his frustrated one. The latter would be disappointing, since she got the feeling that the detective- whom she had dubbed Wilhelm- rarely felt the feeling. Also, the girl still creeped her out, and would make a good antagonist in her book. Or maybe some creepy little side-kick.

Eevee and his crew had decided to look around Kalos a bit more before heading off to another part of the world, even though getting back to kalos was as easy as opening a door the other pokemon with Eevee didn't want to leave quite yet. Nidoran and the new member ralts followed shortly behind eevee taking in the sights as they walked into this strange town. Ralts seemed quite tired and when eevee had asked him earlier he had just stated that he had an odd dream and it was as if he hadn't gotten any sleep at all. Eevee shrugged it off and had no idea that the odd dream would have been him confronting and choosing one of the god pokemon. Shortly after joining Eevee's group he had the dream and chose Virizion as his god, although he chose to keep this to himself not really knowing if it was a dream or not.
As they walked into the town Eevee too a deep breath and looked around. "This looks quite nice i think we should stay here a while." The 3 pokemon began to walk around the town looking at the town square as they slowly made their way to a more woodlike area where the 3 pokemon could set up camp for the night. and hopefully find food to eat. Eventually they find a nice spot among some trees and had gathered some food for later and decided to look around town a bit more before it got to later in the evening. Maybe they could find some cool things or people in town.

Gwyn ran his hand down his face, both frustrated and intrigued. On one hand he had lost a possible witness, and a possible subject of his interrogations. On the other hand, he got some very interesting information. 'A monster, devouring someone whole?' Gwyn wasn't one to believe in monsters, but Reshiram ruled it as a truth. Maybe she was scared, and saw some sort of pokemon. It could have been another disciple; Gwyn had encountered a few of them in his line of work. He had never seen one that devoured people, though. He snapped out of his state of thought as he noticed people looking at him, with a particularly intimidating old lady eyeing him. 'Should probably move on.' He turned to walk away, then noticed a woman writing notes, a foreigner it seemed. "What are you writing there?" He pointed at the womans notepad. He doubted he would get lucky again, but no reason not to question her.

Razailia looked at the man in surprise, and smiled softly, "I'm taking notes on you. You're an interesting individual." She clicks her pen and walks up to the man, " It's for my upcoming installment 'Night Terrors.'" She looked down as Arta finally walked up next to her. The pokemon looked sad, and she reached down and let her aura calm the pokemon down. Arta chittered happily to her, and walked back over to her things to guard them. People usually don't try to go near 3 foot long giant spiders.

The terrifying old lady kept giving him the stink eye as he spoke with another young woman, but eventually moved on with her pokemon to another part of the square. The young woman and her Sliggoo had met with another woman, around the same age with darker skin, and the group went inside. Likely another friend. It was late afternoon by now, though still a few hours until sunset.

"You write books? I don't really read horror stories myself, tend to stick to things grounded in reality, maybe a book on philosophy or two." He scratched his beard lightly. "I assume that's why you came here, to gather more info for your stories? Have you heard anything about the rumors of this place?" He didn't bother being subtle, since she probably saw him pull out his badge earlier.

Eevee, nidoran and ralts decided to split up while looking at the stores. They all knew how to get back to the camp so they didn't need to stick near each other. They walked to the town square that seemed to be an easy spot to get to from anywhere in the town and then split up going to various stores.
Eevee decided he would try and look for some special stone. His evolution's were very powerful and if he could find a stone he could do it a lot more often, and maybe even train so that reverting back wouldn't make him feel so weak. It was a small town so it was probably unlikely he would find a fire, water or thunderstone to use but it was worth looking around anyway. Although on top of it all, if he did find one he couldn't just buy it so it was merely out of interest he looked around.
Nidoran walked around mainly looking at the various food stores. Small little cafes and a beautiful store that seemed to have 10000 different kinds of chocolates. There wasn't all that much in terms of things he wanted but looking around was always fun, although without money looking at all the food only made nidoran hungry and made him look forward to returning to camp quicker, so he decided to head back early and maybe look for more berries he could eat while he waited for the others to return.
Ralts came across a toy store and as he walked inside he tilted his head up so he could see the store properly. It was a large store from his height and he looked around eventually coming across an isle that had toy weapons, like toy guns, toy scimitars, battle axes, ninja stars. Hundreds of kid toys that looked awesome. Ralts began to jump up and down trying to reach some of the weapons that lied high on the shelf but couldn't quite reach the top. He looked around and seeing staff walk around he realized he would be too nervous to ask a human to get one down for him so he continued to struggle as he tried to reach the toys.

Razailia nods, "I came here because of those rumors." She writes on her notes 'observant and quick,' "And yes, I did come here to gather information for my stories. And no, there has been no recent activity of any vanishings in the week I've been here." Razailia looks up from her notes, through her lashes, "My name is Razailia Nayar. I've written three books so far, one philosophy and two horror stories. Perhaps you've heard of me?"

Gwyn thought for a second. "Yes, I believe I have read a book of yours. 'A Look at the World Around Us' I think it was called. It was okay, nothing fantastic, but good enough." He was very blunt. He didn't really see much point of talking to her if she had no new information, but she could be a useful ally. "How about if we see one another again we share any new information we have gathered?"

Razailia smiled at his slight criticism, it was a breath of fresh air and slight nostalgia that brought back memories of her first days at writing, "Yes, I think we could do that." She writes down 'blunt' on her sheet, "But do keep your eye out. I have a feeling our little villain is going to get active again. It's been far to long since the last vanishing.." Razailia folds her notepad away and takes a surprise shot of him- she likes capturing people in their honest moments, not posing for the camera. Turning, she waves goodbye to the man and walks to her table. Arta had caught and wrapped a pidgey for the waiter- but other then that, nothing had changed. She leaves money for the check, a generous tip, and an empty pokeball. Gathering her stuff, she heads towards her hotel; taking slow, measured steps as to continue in her memorization of the town.

Gwyn turned away from Razailia and starts walking, thinking about the case so far. 'So, Miles was apparently eaten by some sort of monster. He was not from around here, came with two friends, and vanished while shopping. The girl I had met a while ago watched as it happened.' He stroked his beard as he thought, scanning the area. He then headed towards where it seemed the cemetery was. The grave keeper had dissapeared there, so maybe there were other people around there that had some sort of connection with him. Maybe a relative, or a friend, or something.

Shop selection on main street was about what one would expect from a small town. Food was popular, with the chocolate specialty store that caught Nidoran's eyes and a few other cafés. Oddly enough, there wasn't a lot for pokemon and trainers, save for the Mart within the Pokemon Center and the apothecary selling herbs and medicines. No sign of the stones Eevee was in search of, though the general store and mart both offered import services upon request(at a higher price). A few rocks in town looked interesting to a Pokemon, but upon inspection would reveal they were merely decorative pieces, nothing special. On the western edge of town was a lake, where water stones and shiny scales occasionally washed up to shore; the latter likely supplied by a Miltoic or other lovely water pokemon occupying the large body of water.
Berries in trees and bushes were plentiful outside of town, with smaller wild berries often found in clumps and domesticated berries in a farm. The farm was located north of town, developed along the river with plenty of irrigation to support the operation. Judging by the herbs and specialty berries - most of them not found naturally in the area, all with some special property in medicine - it was run by the apothecary and kin. More tropical berries were found naturally in the wild, both in clumps and solitary, the former often shrubs and the latter trees. Sweet-n-sour Petayas were the most common tree-bound berry, with bittersweet Nanabs on palm-like berry trees near water and bitter, sour Durins found rarely on thick-trunked, towering berry trees. The bushes held the deliciously-sweet Magost and Watmel berries along the water, the spicy Occa mostly along the few human paths, the bitter Jaboca growing at the bases of Durin trees, and tasty Roseli berries scattered throughout the area on low-lying bushes. A variety of options, with sweet or bitter berries being clear winners in the climate.
The toy store had been a popular store in the past, but most of the former children were now teenagers, uninterested in the middle-aged woman and her variety of toys. Sure, there were still a couple of youngsters in the town, tourists with their children, and the occasional young trainer, but it was barely enough to keep her afloat. The rumors surrounding the town certainly hadn't helped, either, especially that 'monster' nonsense...She sighed, her head resting on her hand as she leaned on the counter. She sprang up eagerly as she heard the tingle of the door bell, relaxing in disappointment as she realized it was just a Ralts. A cute pokemon, for sure, but she doubted he happened to be carrying a wallet of cash. Maybe a trainer's pokemon?...That thought went away as no one else followed the pokemon in. Next came her wondering why exactly a wild pokemon decided to enter her shop and start wandering the aisles, or why a wild pokemon was in the middle of the town in the FIRST place. She cautiously followed the Ralts to the aisle he went down; with no pokemon of her own, she'd be in trouble if he started flinging psychic attacks, but he seemed harmless enough. For now. Oddly, she found the pokemon struggling to reach a toy sword on the shelf; a little foam one, one she had designed for toddlers to bash each other and their siblings with harmlessly. She looked around the store, futilely checking for customers to wait on, then helped the Ralts by taking the sword off the shelf, setting it near him on the ground. She also took down a stuffed Clefairy doll, a bit shorter than the pokemon was, and headed back towards the counter. At least someone could benefit from her toys, even if it was just a pokemon with big dreams.
As Raza and Arta headed towards the hotel, a high-pitched, almost womanly screech could be heard from the café. Seems the waiter found the 'present'. Hopefully they wouldn't have to pay for new pants for the man's uniform. In any case, the hotel was a modest three floors, designed with a rustic Kalosian flair in mind; blue-painted wooden beams and supports against pale yellow walls, decorated with fading flower designs in the corners. In fact, the whole place seemed faded, but still well-kept, judging by the small garden in pots and small re-purposed wooden mangers outside, with a large wooden bench under each of the two wide windows, the double-doors positioned in the very center. Very tidy and quaint, reminiscent of 'the good old days'. Various signs and notices were posted near the doors; mainly operating times and pokemon policies, with an interesting flier advertising local events, such as baby showers and weddings. Save for the times and a translated version of the policies, it was all in the flowing Kalosian native language.
The entrance was bright and rustic, wood and pastel blending on the walls and furniture to form a quaint lobby. The large reception desk sat in perfect line with the front doors, though the rest of the space was delightfully lopsided. On the left were small bookshelves covered in knick-knacks and Kalosian tomes, comfortable little armchairs, and both the staircase and old-fashioned elevator leading to the upper floors. On the right was a large table that held complementary breakfast treats in the morning, two small table-and-chair sets, a large sofa styled like the armchairs, and a decent-sized room only accessible via the reception counter. The breakfast table had been cleared off long ago, though the sweet smell of pastries lingered in the air of the lobby, mixed with the odor of dried flowers and herbs from the flower pots around the lobby. Two posts helped support the upper floors, carved and sculpted to match the old-fashioned feel of the rest of the hotel, built for form and function.
There was no sign of the pair of women who entered a short time ago; likely already upstairs in their room. However, an older gentleman with a magnificent mustache waited behind the counter, a younger woman arranging things on the bookshelves, and a Litleo napping right in the middle of the couch. There was a family resemblance between the two humans, namely in their bright golden eyes and strong cheekbones, so they were likely father and daughter. A family business, like so many others in the town.
The cemetery lay east of the town, with a church, morgue, and ample space separating it from the rest of the town. It was well-kept, with neatly trimmed grass and hedges on the outside of the tall, wrought-iron fence. Several flowers were left on graves, and cobblestone paths helped maintain order in the place of death. A modest statue of a traditional depiction of Yvetal - wings spread, perched on a gravestone, head down towards the ground to accentuate the "Y of Death" - sat in the middle of a miniature 'plaza' near the entrance of the cemetery. It was little more then three benches on the sides and back of the statue(to sit below his head directly was said to bring bad luck), with paths leading to other parts of the cemetery, but it did at least serve as some sort of landmark amongst the low gravestones. Mausoleums could be spotted near the back - empty and 'reserved' - but most of the graveyard was common gravestones with the occasional obelisk or Y-shaped marker.
Sitting on the bench under Yvetal's right wing was a young boy; no more than 13 or 14, dressed in stained denim overalls with a bag of tools on the ground beside him. He had a darker complexion and deep brown eyes, with nearly black hair poking out from under the worn cap on his head. A Murkrow sat on the back of the bench, legs tucked under and appearing half-asleep. They seemed to be the only ones in the graveyard at the time; despite the disappearances and presumed deaths, no bodies had been discovered, meaning little work to be done and few funerals to attend.

Gwyn walked past the fence and into the cemetery, which he found to be surprisingly well kept. He walked over to the statue of the pokemon of death, admiring it. He looked up at the statues down facing head, standing beneath it. "Not bad." Gwyn stroked his chin as he examined the face. Out of the corner of his eyes, Gwyn noticed a young boy sitting under the right wing, with a Murkrow sleeping behind him. Attempting to look casual, Gwyn turned andleaned against the statue with his back, pulling out a pokeball and tossing it, releasing a Herdier. Kids like pokemon, right? "So, what are you doing here, kid? Have relatives around or something?" Gwyn asked, turning his head slightly to the boy just so he had him in his field of view. The dog like pokemon walked over to the boy and looked up at him, wagging its small tail.

The boy blinked, coming out of his daze. "Huh? Oh, yeah." He pets the Herdier and whistles, his Murkrow waking up from his own daze. "My grandparents own the cemetery. At least, since Dad went missing." The boy rises, stretching his sore muscles a bit. "Sorry, I was just taking a break. Did you need something?" He asks, looking up at the bald man. The kid's words were honest, though just a look in his eyes could tell anyone that.

Razailia never had learned the names of the people running the hotel she was staying in, but they never really tried to talk to her. She waved in a polite manner at the two and started up the stairs. Arta didn't even bother going in the building- just started up the side of the building. She opened the windows of several residents, looking for Raza's, before finally finding her master's room. She chittered happily and opened the door, just as Raza was getting out the key. Raza smiles down at Arta, kneeling down and patting her head. She walks in and closes the door, heading over to the table and sitting at the thing. Opening her laptop, Razailia starts to enter in the thoughts of the day, and the people she met. From the creepy woman that the detective was talking to, to the old woman who benched on her porch every morning, to the old nudest man who lived on the busiest street in the small town- and liked to garden with his Mr.Mime. At this moment, Razailia also noted that she was pretty sure that everyone in this town was a bit eccentric- but that was probably the 'small town syndrome' she never really got to witness. Getting an idea, Razailia lets out Ryce, her Noctowl, and attaches a pokemon-adapted camera to the large beast. Ryce hoots, asking what she wanted. "Ryce, can you please go and take pictures of anything you find interesting. Whether it a person or a place I haven't stopped by, take a picture." Ryce nods, and takes off out of the window. The owl was rather large, she hoped it didn't scare anyone to much.

"Actually, I would like to ask you about your father." Gwyn put his hands in his pockets of his trench coat. "I'm trying to find out where your father went, and if you co-operate you may be able to help me do so. First off, what do you think happened to him?" Gwyn didn't expect very much from this question. Most of the time kids either had no clue or some convoluted theory. There was a chance he had some actual information, though.

At this time of day, there wasn't too much interesting happening. A man and a boy speaking at the graveyard, a few officers taking a lunch break, the nudist man planting azaleas. The poor Pidgey had been freed by the waiter and his employer, with the former now being comforted by the latter. The lake rippled in the breeze, and the shimmer of Goldeen could be seen underneath the water. The farm was being tended to by its owners. All was quiet...So far.
The boy blinked, then looked a bit saddened. "I don't know; he went out to make sure none of the local kids were hanging around one night, and never came back. I went looking for him the next morning, but there was no sign of him or Rover - er, his Furfrou." He answered honestly. "Some of the grass was trampled near the Norian Crypt, but it's back to normal now..."

Eevee walked around for quite some time not finding much intrest in the small cafe's and niche stores that this small town had. He hadn't expected much and wasn't in great need of the stone now. This was more of a vacation so he didn't really need to train or even fight for that matter. He just wanted to relax and enjoy his time around, it was a great place to do so. The sun began to go down and he began to see less people roaming the streets. He hadn't found the things he was looking for so he decided to head back and see if anyone else had gone back to camp as well. It's not like they had money so they couldn't go off buying things, and its not like many shop owners would sell stuff to wild pokemon either.
As Eevee returned he found that Nidoran had gone off and collected more berries as well as eating his own share. He seemed to collect more than he ate to prove that he didn't eat without permission but eevee just shook his head smiling. "Were you hungry or something Nidoran?" Nidoran just blushed and looked away not knowing how to answer. Eevee laughed as he looked up into the sky seeing the sunlight slowly fade away. "I wonder how much longer ralts will take."
At the store ralts smiled at the lady as she put down the sword. As ralts picked up the foam sword he swung it slowly a few times to get an idea of how the balance and weight of the blade was. He hadn't really used any form of weapon before but after a few swings he began to swing the blade around him as if he was sending a flurry of strikes, he moved very quickly and would reflect someone who had used a sword for years, and on top of it all he utilized the light weight of the foam to still preform quite effectively. He stopped the blade dance with one vertical swing stopping partway, pausing for a few seconds then straightens up and places the sword back at the bottom of the shelf where he could reach. It felt natural using a blade and he knew that he wanted to attack like that and not with his usual psychic powers. He left the foam blade at the store feeling like just taking it wasn't right. It seemed to belong to the woman and wasn't his to take, but as he left the store he bowed to the shop owner and as he rose back up lifted his head so the woman could see his eyes closed and a big smile on his face as if thanking the woman. He walked out into the street and looked around trying to figure out what to do next, forgetting that he was meant to head back to the camp.
(Ralts didn't use swords dance or anything. It was just a way to show off weapon proficiency and i didn't know a way to say it. I know in karate these "forms" would be called "kata" but I couldn't think of a general word that all would understand)
